What would it take for Buhari to secure the Abuja- Kaduna Road?

The News Agency of Nigeria, that one organisation that lives with one and only one rule, that you never offend the government in power took the radical step of reporting the kidnapping of a Federal Road Safety Corps officer and the killing of another.  Attacked along Sabo-Wuse Area of the highway, the officers were traveling in a commercial bus alongside other passengers when the hoodlums struck at about 6.30 a.m.

“The marshals took permission to be with their families in Kaduna at the weekend, and were on their way back to Abuja when the attack took place this morning.

“Njiga was killed at the scene, while Garba and the third marshal were taken to an unknown destination alongside the other occupants of the bus.

“The matter is now with the security agencies, and it is our hope that our men are rescued and brought back to us alive,” Mr. Kazeem a FRSC offcial said.

Unfortunately, Buhari has become a woeful failure when it comes to actualizing the secured nation he’d promised Nigerians, and sadly its not because he can’t, it’s actually more likely because he wouldn’t, why? because for the stretch of a few weeks when the Road was being used to convey his friends and other foreign dignitaries, it was as secured as Aso Villa, but immediately the airport became functional, he abandoned Nigerians to their fate and set up shop at his secured fort.

So, what will it take to bring Buhari’s attention to the insecurity at the highway? well it will be nothing less than grounding Abuja Airport to a dead stop. Apparently, the only reason our fantastically corrupt police service has to actually do the job it knows how to do is the insecurity of Nigeria’s curropt and fantastically stupid powerful men at the top. Buhari’s penchant for sacrificing almost anything to please the legislators and the bureaucratic brass says alot about what he actually values, stability! and unfortunately, the woes of poor people doesn’t threaten that stability.
